A3 (40cm x 60cm) approx - £450

A2 (80cm x 120cm) approx - £550

prices quoted are for one subject on a neutral background. For extra subjects in same painting please add the following:

A4 - £50 A3 - £100 A2 - £150

For more detailed backgrounds, e.g. a landscape, please ask me for a quote.

Your portrait is created using the best quality pan pastels and pastel pencils on pastel mat which are archival and will last a lifetime under the correct conditions.

I supply the finished portrait with a backing and mount wrapped in clear seal to protect it until you can arrange framing.

A 20% non-refundable* deposit is payable at time of booking with the balance due on completion of your portrait provided you are satisfied with it.

Process

Where possible I will arrange to meet your pet/horse either at my studio in Culzean or I will either come to your house or meet you in a suitable location. I will take photos and spend some time studying them to get a feel for their personality. This can take anything from 15/20 minutes to an hour and in some circumstances I may ask to see them again.

I ask that clients don’t groom dogs prior to this photo session. Although a well groomed dog may look lovely in a photograph it doesn’t make for a great portrait.

In some circumstances it may not be possible for me to meet your pet or animal and in this situation I ask you to send me a good selection of quality high resolution photos to my email. I will then decide if I can use these photographs before I take on the commission.

My waiting list for portraits can vary from around 6 months to a year and I will advise you at the time of enquiry how long you are likely to wait. Please note this is very much an estimate and can and does change due to many different circumstances. I will however keep you informed of any significant delays or occasional times when a portrait may be ready sooner than expected.
